Enterprise AI Competition Shifts From Model Quality to Operational Workflow Mastery

The competitive landscape for enterprise AI agents is moving beyond model performance toward solving complex operational workflows, according to Reindeer founder and CEO Yoav Naveh. Speaking at the Supply Chain AI Symposium in Chicago, Naveh said early adoption waves focused on copilots and call center automation failed to deliver promised efficiency gains for most organizations. The emerging third wave targets core operations spanning finance, procurement, treasury, accounting and supply chain—workflows representing 70-80 percent of enterprise labor costs. These processes vary significantly even within single companies, which presents a major challenge. Naveh cited a major consumer packaged goods company operating five distinct accounts payable processes across different departments. This fragmentation undermines one-size-fits-all software approaches and raises questions about the scalability of embedded engineer models, where vendors station technical staff to hand-build agents for individual processes.
