Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh has appointed two interim policy advisers to support his work at the central bank following his swearing-in last month. Paul Winfree and Daniel Heil will serve as temporary contractors analyzing policy and special projects, according to sources familiar with the matter. Winfree authored the Federal Reserve chapter in the conservative policy blueprint "Project 2025," while Heil is a fellow at Stanford's Hoover Institution, where Warsh previously held a position. No permanent hires have been made to Warsh's staff at this stage. Warsh's personnel decisions face close scrutiny as he leads an institution where he previously served as governor during the 2007-2008 financial crisis. His broader network includes prominent figures from business, finance, and government. Industry observers note that Warsh has limited advisers with central banking experience as he begins his tenure.
