A federal judge in Illinois has dismissed multiple counts in a lawsuit against Aleksandar Mimic and his trucking network, with settlement negotiations showing substantial momentum. Judge Martha Pacold of the Northern District of Illinois tossed four counts without prejudice, allowing them to be refiled in amended form. Count II, addressing Truth in Leasing Act violations, was dismissed with prejudice regarding aiding and abetting theories, preventing its refiling. Drivers initially filed suit in 2022 with an amended complaint in 2025. A settlement conference the day before the dismissal produced what court records described as "significant progress," though additional negotiations remain necessary. The case against other defendants continues unchanged. These defendants include Super Ego Holding LLC, Floyd Inc., Rocket Expediting LLC, Jordan Holdings dba JHI Transport, Rex Trucking, Haidar Dawood LLC, Twin Carrier LLC, Windy City National Trans, and Trytime Transport. These entities operate as an affiliated transportation network. Super Ego gained national attention in spring 2025 following a 60 Minutes investigation identifying it as a "chameleon carrier."
