FedEx transported two giant pandas from China to Georgia on a dedicated Boeing 777 freighter operation. The carrier moved six-year-old male Ping Ping and five-year-old female Fu Shuang from Chengdu to Atlanta, working with Zoo Atlanta to facilitate the non-stop flight. The animals traveled in custom-built crates accompanied by Zoo Atlanta specialists, fresh bamboo, water, and preferred food items. They were the exclusive cargo aboard the aircraft. FedEx provided ground support in Atlanta, including trucking and logistics coordination to move the pandas from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport to their new habitat. The company donated the full transportation cost as part of its conservation initiatives. Since 2000, FedEx has transported 23 pandas total between China and the US, with this shipment underscoring the carrier's ongoing role in international wildlife relocation operations.
