FedEx's Dubai World Central facility has achieved IATA Center of Excellence for Independent Validators (CEIV) Pharma certification. The carrier's total certified pharmaceutical hubs now reaches 30 globally. The Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Africa hub underwent rigorous validation of its operational processes, storage capabilities, equipment and quality management systems. The 57,000 square meter facility features a 170 square meter temperature-controlled storage area engineered to maintain sensitive healthcare shipments. Taarek Hinedi, vice president of operations for the region, said the certification underscores FedEx's commitment to healthcare logistics standards as supply chains grow more complex. The DWC facility serves as a regional gateway connecting businesses across the Middle East to FedEx's worldwide network. It offers cold-chain expertise, advanced monitoring through FedEx Surround and SenseAware sensor technology, and real-time shipment visibility to pharmaceutical customers requiring precision handling.
