Flexport launched a Model Context Protocol server last week enabling shippers to deploy autonomous agents for freight booking, shipment tracking, and quote retrieval. The integration supports Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, and proprietary in-house systems.
The platform allows freight transactions to execute at pre-negotiated rates without manual user login requirements. Flexport's updated terms assign responsibility for erroneous bookings to whoever deploys the automated agent, aligning with U.S. contract law governing principal liability for agent actions.
This shift enables autonomous procurement workflows in freight management, streamlining shipper operations across booking and visibility functions.
