A new subscription service is offering freight forwarders integrated cargo monitoring and insurance protection for perishable and temperature-controlled shipments. TRACinSURED—developed by airfreight wholesaler Solent Freight Services, technology provider Tag-N-Trac, and insurance specialist Otonomi—bundles real-time tracking with dual-layer insurance coverage for flowers, pharmaceuticals and similar goods. The offering pairs parametric delay coverage with temperature excursion protection. Parametric delay cover triggers automatic payouts when shipments exceed defined time thresholds without requiring proof of physical damage. The current structure includes 6- and 12-hour delay thresholds. Trial pricing sits at approximately $100 per $2,500 in insured value, inclusive of data logging equipment. The service operates on monthly and annual subscription models, with tracking available from airport to final delivery or door-to-door. According to Solent's chief marketing officer Nataliya Zagorodnova, the approach represents an integrated risk-management tool that combines visibility with financial protection, rather than a cheaper alternative to conventional cargo insurance.
