Four masked men cut hinges from a 2026 Freightliner's rear door early Tuesday in Philadelphia, stealing approximately half a pallet of Black Angus beef ribs from the 3300 block of South Third Street. The suspects transferred the stolen meat into a dark-colored Ford F-150 pickup truck around 1 a.m., with an unidentified Jeep accompanying both vehicles as they departed southbound. Police described each offender as male and masked. The incident underscores escalating cargo theft tactics across the region. Recent break-ins have targeted parked trailers while drivers faced confrontation during robberies. In separate cases, thieves deliberately engaged security escorts protecting high-value technology shipments. The Philadelphia Police Department confirmed the investigation remains active. No arrests have been made, and authorities have not disclosed the stolen merchandise's value or the affected motor carrier's identity.
