The Federal Railroad Administration announced a 25% year-over-year increase in rail safety fines as part of its efforts to ensure safer rail travel. The FRA conducted more than 70,000 inspections during fiscal 2025 and levied over $21 million in civil penalties across approximately 3,900 closed cases.
