Frankfurt Airport operator Fraport said it does not anticipate fuel supply disruptions despite scheduled pipeline maintenance at the hub. The airport confirmed routine work is underway on a fuel pipeline serving the facility but stressed alternative supply routes and substantial storage capacity would maintain operations. Fraport said its operational capability remains unaffected by the maintenance work. Media reports suggested Lufthansa has directed crew on certain routes to refuel at alternate airports, particularly affecting short- and medium-haul services. Longer routes also face similar measures. Reports also cited low Rhine water levels as constraining jet fuel shipments by barge. Lufthansa said it would not reduce cargo loads to accommodate additional fuel supplies.
