A former regional manager for a freight forwarding company was sentenced Wednesday to 18 months in federal prison for conspiring to violate U.S. export controls. Natalya Ivanovna Mazulina, 43, of Federal Way, Washington, was ordered to forfeit $77,000 in criminal proceeds. Mazulina served as western regional manager of Delex Air Cargo LLC, based in Jamaica, New York. Between December 2022 and December 2024, she conspired with Russian freight forwarding companies to unlawfully ship industrial oil and gas equipment to Russia through intermediary countries. Mazulina submitted false export documents that omitted Russia as the final destination. She pleaded guilty in October 2025 after a December 2024 arrest. Internal communications referenced sanctioned clients paying through third-party bank accounts. U.S. Attorney Joseph Nocella Jr. stated the office will continue pursuing export control violations.
