Container carriers Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd, operating under the Gemini Cooperation, surpassed their 90% on-time schedule reliability target during April and May 2026. The alliance achieved 91.4% schedule reliability across all trades during the two-month period, outperforming competing networks. MSC's standalone operation recorded 79.7% reliability, while the Ocean and Premier alliances each achieved 69% reliability across major deepsea routes. Gemini's Asia-Northern Europe Loop 3 service demonstrated exceptional performance, delivering 100% reliability across 15 arrivals. The carriers' success reflects their network strategy emphasizing transhipment hubs. Upcoming service adjustments will test whether the alliance can maintain this performance. These changes include removing Algeciras calls and adding new port stops at Aarhus, Gothenburg, and Southampton.
