General Motors is investing $275 million at its Spring Hill Manufacturing Plant in Tennessee to expand truck engine production and support a new Cadillac model launch. The allocation includes $150 million directed toward the future Cadillac vehicle, which will increase the facility's production portfolio to five models. The remaining $125 million will upgrade equipment and extend production of GM's 2.7-liter inline four-cylinder engine used in Chevrolet and GMC trucks including the Colorado, Canyon, Silverado and Sierra. The investment is part of GM's broader domestic manufacturing push, with the automaker committing approximately $9 billion to its U.S. manufacturing operations this year. The Tennessee facility is engineered to adjust production based on market demand. In May 2025, GM announced an $888 million investment in its New York propulsion plant to support next-generation V8 engine manufacturing.
