GO Transit Unveils Commemorative Locomotive for America 250 Celebration

GO Transit and Metrolinx have introduced a special locomotive livery marking the America 250 commemoration, featuring bilingual messaging celebrating Ontario communities served by the transit network. The Wabtec MotivePower MP40PH-3C unit 636 displays "A Place to Grow" on one side and its French equivalent "En Plein Essor" on the other. Names of various Ontario municipalities are emblazoned across both sides. The decorated locomotive recently emerged from the GO Transit Whitby maintenance facility. This represents a new departure for GO Transit, which has historically refrained from special paint schemes aside from temporary holiday wraps.
