Hong Kong Air Cargo Industry Services Limited has installed a new storage control system at its e-commerce fulfilment centre to accelerate shipment processing. The investment supports rising demand for e-commerce logistics. The Hacis Storage Control System integrates automated storage and retrieval technology with high-speed tote stacker cranes and Automated Guided Vehicles to deliver inventory directly to workstations under a goods-to-person model. The system connects with warehouse management platforms and customer planning systems to synchronize real-time inventory data and boost visibility throughout the fulfillment cycle. Hacis expects the investment to double daily outbound processing capacity at its e-commerce facility while reducing manual handling and improving turnaround times. The company said the upgrade supports increasingly demanding fulfillment schedules. This marks the latest investment at the facility, which added a climate-controlled cool chain warehouse in 2023 to handle temperature-sensitive e-commerce shipments at Hong Kong International Airport.
