Hong Kong Air Cargo Industry Services Limited has launched road operations into Vietnam to expand its SuperLink China Direct network beyond mainland China. The customs-bonded road feeder service, which has connected the Chinese mainland to Hong Kong International Airport for several years, now extends south to capture additional cargo flows from Vietnamese shippers and enterprises. A successful pilot shipment was completed with U&I Logistics Corporation, routing freight from Vietnam by truck through Wuzhou before connecting to Hong Kong via the bonded feeder service. The expansion offers Vietnamese businesses and international shippers lower-cost intermodal solutions with greater routing flexibility. Hacis executives indicated the Vietnam launch represents the first step in potential further Asian expansion. The service is expected to generate incremental import and export volumes through Hong Kong International Airport. It will also create fresh opportunities for regional freight forwarders and logistics providers.
