Hapag-Lloyd will withdraw from a vessel-sharing agreement on the Asia-east coast South America trade route next year, MSC announced. The Ipanema service currently deploys 13 vessels with average capacity of 11,700 teu. MSC and ONE will jointly operate the weekly sailing under the new configuration, which begins April 3. Five Hapag-Lloyd vessels currently deployed on the route will be replaced by MSC tonnage. MSC will deploy additional vessels to strengthen its presence on the trade lane. The port rotation will remain unchanged, including Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou, Hong Kong, Singapore, Santos, Paranaguá, Navegantes, Montevideo, Buenos Aires, and Rio Grande.
