Hershey Appoints Utz Brands Executive as New Supply Chain Chief

Hershey has appointed Mitchell Arends as chief supply chain officer, effective June 22, 2026. Arends succeeds Jason Reiman, who is retiring from the position. The 25-year consumer packaged goods veteran joins Hershey from Utz Brands, where he served as executive vice president, principal operating officer and chief integrated supply chain officer. At Utz, he oversaw a $5 billion operation encompassing supply chain, research and development and direct-store delivery operations. Previously, he was chief supply chain officer for North America at Kraft Heinz, where he oversaw a $22 billion supply chain. His Kraft Heinz responsibilities included manufacturing, logistics, planning and procurement. At Hershey, Arends will oversee manufacturing, procurement, logistics and planning while focusing on digital integration, automation and insights-driven planning. Hershey President and CEO Kirk Tanner praised Arends as a transformational leader with proven expertise across complex consumer goods operations.
