Hong Kong Air Cargo will begin charter operations to India's newest aviation hub next month, marking its entry into the South Asian cargo market. Service launches August 10 with departures from Hong Kong International to Navi Mumbai International on Mondays, with return flights from Navi Mumbai departing the same day. The carrier appointed Aeroprime as its ground services agent in India to support regional expansion. The move comes as Hong Kong Air Cargo faces mounting pressure in Europe following the EU's e-commerce package levy. The carrier has built significant European presence since October 2023, operating routes to Milan, Liege, Oslo, London Stansted, Birmingham, Glasgow, East Midlands and Cyprus. However, e-commerce volumes between Hong Kong and Europe have declined sharply in recent weeks. The India service positions the carrier to capture emerging trade flows between East and South Asia.
