A 61-year-old commercial truck driver from Houston has admitted to transporting 24 undocumented immigrants in a tractor-trailer disguised as a produce shipment. Rodney William Gipson acknowledged knowingly or recklessly moving the undocumented individuals despite nearly three decades of commercial driving experience. On February 19, Gipson approached a Border Patrol checkpoint in Falfurrias, Texas, claiming to haul carrots from the Rio Grande Valley to Houston. A K-9 unit alerted officers to the trailer's rear compartment, triggering an inspection that revealed the concealed passengers. Cargo documents listed carrots as the declared freight.
