J.B. Hunt Transport Services has deployed a freight execution platform across its business units following a year-long collaboration with Overroute. The platform automates shipment coordination and exception management while operating within carriers' existing systems. Overroute agents read live data, detect surface exceptions and manage customer communications to improve asset utilization. The technology is now working on millions of loads across Hunt's operations. Nick Hobbs, Hunt's chief operating officer, said the platform represents the company's broader strategy to reduce friction in freight execution. Overroute CEO Alex Reed noted the agents have been tested against real enterprise logistics complexity, including edge cases and change management. Overroute is the first startup launched from Hunt's UP. Labs program, which began in October 2024 to address industry-wide challenges.
