Hydra Sacramento Becomes Second California Warehouse to Win Cal/OSHA Safety Star

The Sacramento warehouse operation Hydra has achieved Voluntary Protection Program Star status from California's occupational safety agency, marking only the second warehouse facility in the state to receive the distinction. Patriot Rail, which acquired Hydra in 2023, announced the recognition. Cal/OSHA's Star designation represents the highest safety honor offered by the nation's largest state-run workplace safety program. It is reserved for employers demonstrating exemplary practices and injury-prevention programs exceeding regulatory requirements. Hydra stands among 63 active Star sites statewide. Patriot Rail CEO Brandy Christian credited the achievement to companywide commitment to safety protocols and employee engagement across all operational levels. Cal/OSHA Deputy Chief Carl Paganelli praised the facility for establishing a world-class safe work environment.
