India has denounced an attack that ignited a cargo ship in the Gulf of Oman early Wednesday, labeling the incident "unacceptable." The vessel was struck by drone fire in the Persian Gulf region and briefly caught fire. The attack marks the latest maritime incident straining a fragile ceasefire following 10 weeks of regional conflict, as the U.S. awaits Iran's response to a peace proposal. South Korea similarly condemned the strike, citing government investigations that found the ship was hit by unidentified objects. In a separate incident, a commercial vessel was seized by unauthorized personnel 38 nautical miles off the UAE coast near the Strait of Hormuz entrance and is heading toward Iranian waters, according to UK naval authorities. Shipping activity through the critical waterway continues, with two India-bound liquefied petroleum gas tankers recently transiting the strait among ten large vessels carrying energy products since Sunday.
