Canadian Pacific Kansas City will handle inbound materials and outbound shipments for International Paper's new 468,000-square-foot packaging facility in Rankin County, Mississippi.

The site, expected to begin operations in the fourth quarter of 2027, will leverage CPKC's integrated North America rail network spanning Canada, the United States, and Mexico. The railroad connection will be operational from the facility's launch, enabling streamlined logistics and improved transit reliability.

CPKC officials said the single-line network reduces handling requirements and supports efficient supply chain scaling. The partnership reflects aligned approaches to long-term infrastructure investment between the companies.

The facility's location provides International Paper direct access to CPKC's continental rail system. This positions the packaging operation to meet production demands while optimizing distribution efficiency across North American markets.
