Jamie Dimon, chief executive of JPMorgan Chase, cautioned that investors are not fully accounting for mounting geopolitical and fiscal threats to global markets. Speaking in a recent interview, Dimon said he would not be a buyer of equities or long-dated U.S. government bonds, citing escalating risks that extend beyond current market pricing. The banking executive pointed to ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East, U.S.-China tensions, and rising military expenditures alongside growing government deficits as primary concerns. While acknowledging difficulty in determining what risks are already reflected in asset prices, Dimon emphasized that unexpected developments could trigger significant market disruption. His warnings contrast with recent investor resilience, as the S&P 500 has gained nearly 10% this year amid steady consumer spending and moderating inflation.
