Wreckage of a K2 Airways Boeing 737-400 freighter has been located off Pakistan's coast following its disappearance during a flight to Karachi. The Pakistan Airports Authority confirmed the discovery approximately 98 kilometers south of Ormara after a 12-hour search operation. The aircraft departed Sharjah on July 7 and lost radio contact at 21:21 Pakistan time. Prior to losing contact, the crew reported a navigational system malfunction at 21:18. Radar data showed the jet undergoing rapid descent and heading changes while positioned 155 nautical miles west of Karachi. The five crew members—two pilots, two engineers, and a loadmaster—remain missing. The aircraft, registered AP-BOI, was a 1999 airframe previously operated by Aeroflot and Garuda Indonesia before conversion to cargo service. K2 Airways, established in 2018, has not disclosed cargo details or whether hazardous materials were aboard.
