Kleinschmidt and freight accounts receivable platform Upwell have formed a strategic partnership aimed at accelerating payment processing for trucking carriers. The collaboration integrates Upwell's billing platform with Kleinschmidt's managed integration network, enabling carriers to route EDI 210 freight invoices directly for automated validation and processing. The system eliminates the need for additional software integrations or changes to existing carrier infrastructure. Upwell's platform audits invoices against shipper-specific requirements, verifying proof-of-delivery documentation, reference numbers, lumper receipts, accessorial charges, shipment weights, contract rates and fuel surcharge calculations. Compliant invoices are submitted automatically while exceptions route for human review. According to Kleinschmidt CEO Dan Heinen, the partnership removes friction from data and payment flows across the supply chain. Kleinschmidt has built its carrier network over 40 years on trust. Early adopters report that the integration has reduced manual billing processes and accelerated payment cycles.
