Chen Lichtenstein will assume the role of chief executive at Zim Integrated Shipping Services on July 1, succeeding Eki Glickman at the Israeli container carrier. The board appointed Lichtenstein on June 1. Glickman resigned in April following a failed acquisition attempt. German rival Hapag-Lloyd acquired Zim in February for $4. A state-owned carrier was subsequently spun off for security purposes. Glickman oversaw a significant operational restructuring during his nearly decade-long tenure, positioning Zim as a digitally advanced global competitor. The carrier currently ranks 10th worldwide by capacity with just under 700,000 twenty-foot equivalent units. Glickman praised his successor in a statement, expressing confidence in Lichtenstein's ability to continue building on the company's operational improvements. Lichtenstein previously served as an advisor to investor KKR and holds a law degree from Stanford Law School.
