A federal jury in Los Angeles convicted two men Tuesday for operating a nationwide cargo theft scheme that caused at least $2 million in losses. Arshpreet Singh, 28, of Sacramento, and Vikramjeet Singh, 31, of Fontana, California, purchased established trucking companies to secure legitimate shipping contracts before diverting high-value freight. The conspiracy operated from March 2024 through June 2025, targeting electronics, appliances, solar panels, shoes and tires across Southern California and Texas. Prosecutors showed conspirators acquired Z&F Transportation LLC for approximately $22,000 and Skyways Trucking LLC to gain carrier credentials. After securing jobs through brokers including Uber Freight, participants collected merchandise from warehouses but never completed deliveries. The scheme's reach included Fontana, Long Beach, Compton, Chino, Commerce and Grand Prairie, Texas. Stolen goods encompassed televisions, laptops, vacuums and LED lights among other consumer products.
