Los Angeles Port Police Dismantle Major Drug Lab, Recover Methamphetamine Stockpile

Los Angeles Port Police helped authorities seize 1,378 pounds of methamphetamine valued at approximately $12 million during a July 28 search warrant execution. The operation targeted a remote desert manufacturing site and recovered both crystal and liquid methamphetamine forms, along with roughly $80,000 in cash. Three Mexican nationals were arrested in connection with the production facility.

The bust resulted from a six-month joint investigation beginning in January by the DEA New York Field Division and DEA Los Angeles High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Group 48, targeting a Sinaloa Cartel organization. Prior seizures during the probe netted 20,000 fentanyl pills and 20 pounds of methamphetamine.

Port Police also announced separate criminal breakthroughs, including recovery of 119 kilos of cocaine and two firearms in Riverside County. A cargo theft operation dismantled a Nike merchandise ring responsible for over $2 million in losses, resulting in felony indictments against 12 individuals.
