The Port of Los Angeles processed over 1 million twenty-foot equivalent units in June. Ocean carriers now grapple with multiple headwinds threatening stability through year-end. Tariff uncertainty and renewed geopolitical tensions in the Middle East are forcing shipping lines to abandon established practices and recalibrate operations, port officials said.
The disruption extends beyond container shipping. Air cargo operators are managing fallout from conflicts in Eastern Europe and emerging conflict zones.
