Lufthansa Cargo has successfully implemented IATA's ONE Record standard alongside WiseTech Global and IBS Software. This marks one of the industry's first large-scale multi-stakeholder deployments. The companies demonstrated initial use cases processing Master Air Waybill data between forwarders and the airline. Shipment records were created in WiseTech's CargoWise platform and transmitted to Lufthansa Cargo systems via IBS Software's ONE Record server. The standard was rolled out in January 2026 to enable API-based data exchange across the air cargo ecosystem. Lufthansa Cargo executives emphasized the technology reduces paperwork while allowing freight data verification before transport. The implementation supports greater transparency throughout supply chains and enables access to expanded freight data and file formats previously unavailable. Lufthansa Cargo head of information management and chief data officer Jasmin Kaiser noted the deployment positions the company to scale connections with customers and partners, laying the foundation for AI-powered services. The implementation follows multiple pilot projects.
