Maersk will launch a 617,000-square-foot fulfillment center in Hopedale, Massachusetts, in late August to serve a major e-commerce customer. The logistics giant invested $100 million to equip the facility with advanced conveyor and sortation systems. The facility can process 330,000 parcels daily at peak capacity. The operation will employ approximately 1,000 workers and improve delivery speed across the Northeast by positioning inventory closer to regional customers. The project reflects Maersk's strategic shift from container shipping toward comprehensive supply chain services. The company operates more than 70 North American warehousing facilities following its 2021 acquisition of Visible Supply Chain Management. Maersk coordinates last-mile deliveries through a combination of national and regional carriers and company-owned trucks where operationally efficient.
