Mammoth Freighters will establish a new 777 freighter conversion line in Qingdao, China, expanding into Asia-Pacific markets. The Texas-based company's operation begins in September at STAECO's newly rebuilt Qingdao Airport facility, utilizing one widebody hangar with two bays. A Jetran-owned 777-200LR is scheduled for conversion induction in autumn, with a second STAECO line launching in early 2027. The expansion responds to growing demand for widebody freighter capacity across the region. Mammoth currently operates conversion lines at Aspire MRO in Fort Worth and STS Aviation Services in Manchester. STAECO brings over 100 737-800 conversions to the partnership, while HAECO Xiamen will provide 777-specific engineering support during startup. The collaboration combines Mammoth's conversion expertise with regional partner capabilities.
