The annual survey of 149 industry professionals found manual process problems now impact 40 percent of operations, with cascading effects on labor costs and overtime expenses. Real-time yard visibility remains critical, with 59.1 percent of respondents calling it essential for operations. Yet implementation challenges are mounting, affecting 55 percent of facilities attempting system deployments. The data underscores a sector at an inflection point, where growing volumes and operational complexity are forcing companies to confront the true cost of outdated workflows. System adoption and daily workflow integration have emerged as primary success factors in determining whether new solutions deliver tangible value.
