Mexican manufacturers assembled 15,262 heavy-duty trucks and buses in June, marking a 7.6% increase from the prior year. This signals recovery after more than a year of sluggish performance. The rebound represents the first concurrent year-over-year gains across production, exports, wholesale and retail sales since August 2024. Freightliner led output with 9,379 units produced and 8,745 exported, up 6% annually. The second-ranked producer manufactured 4,181 trucks with exports climbing 11.7% to 3,685 units. U.S. freight demand continues driving the sector, as virtually all Mexican heavy-duty vehicle exports flow northward. Industry officials attributed June's recovery to strengthening conditions in American trucking markets and accelerating domestic fleet replacement cycles. First-half 2026 production declined 13% compared to the first six months of 2025.
