The figure represented growth compared to May 2025, driven primarily by $33.18 billion in Mexican imports. Year-to-date through May, bilateral trade totaled $404.57 billion. The Port of Laredo, Texas, handled $36.33 billion in May trade flows, a 19.36% annual increase, cementing its position as the nation's busiest international gateway. Mexico accounted for roughly 97% of Laredo's traffic. The El Paso corridor moved $12.09 billion and Otay Mesa processed $4.15 billion in May. Automotive products, electronics and machinery dominated shipment categories.
