Michigan State Police Motor Carrier Officers uncovered a major narcotics and weapons cache during a routine commercial vehicle inspection Thursday on Interstate 69 near Marshall. Officers recovered 92 bundles of suspected heroin totaling approximately 167 kilograms, or 368 pounds. They also seized 174 handguns from the semi-truck, all with obliterated serial numbers. The driver, a male motorist, was arrested and faces drug and weapons-related charges. His identity has not been released. The seizure occurred in Calhoun County, roughly 45 miles southeast of Grand Rapids, along a major freight corridor connecting southern Michigan with Indiana and Canada. Michigan State Police declined to release additional details, citing sensitivity surrounding the ongoing investigation and potential prosecution. Authorities emphasized concerns about witness safety as the case moves forward.
