Mitsubishi Motors North America has partnered with Port Freeport and terminal operator AMPORTS to accelerate vehicle imports and dealer delivery across the United States. The arrangement allows Mitsubishi to increase Japanese automotive volumes entering the Texas Gulf Coast while shortening inland transportation routes to Midwest markets. Port Freeport's strategic location reduces the distance vehicles must travel from port to dealership, enabling faster fulfillment and supply chain flexibility. According to Mitsubishi Motors North America's senior director of communications and events, the port partnership addresses operational complexities inherent in automotive logistics. These complexities arise because vehicles are large and challenging to move. The infrastructure and services available through Port Freeport and its tenants will help the automaker meet customer delivery expectations while maintaining efficiency across its distribution network.
