Multi-State Enforcement Blitz Removes 32 Drivers, 45 Vehicles From Roads

Federal and state authorities across eight states have sidelined at least 32 truck drivers and 45 commercial vehicles through coordinated enforcement operations targeting safety violations and licensing deficiencies.

A 12-hour inspection initiative along Massachusetts and Rhode Island's Route 146 was especially significant. Twenty-seven inspectors completed 126 vehicle inspections and documented 212 federal and state violations. Thirty vehicles and 20 drivers were removed from service for brake defects, mechanical failures and credential issues including CDL and medical certification lapses. Inspectors also identified hazardous materials issues and assisted in a criminal investigation involving a suspicious vehicle.

Inspectors screened nearly 950 vehicles total and assessed $16,079 in fines for three weight infractions.

Operations in Arizona uncovered 26 overweight vehicles during inspections along U.S. Route 60, resulting in nine vehicle and three driver removals. A separate incident involved an unlicensed driver operating without medical clearance or company operating authority. Enforcement actions also occurred in Colorado, Missouri, Texas and Wyoming.
