National Airlines has completed what is believed to be the longest commercial Boeing 777 freighter flight, operating nonstop from Glasgow Prestwick in Scotland to Melbourne, Australia. The aircraft covered 9,849 nautical miles in 19 hours and 23 minutes while carrying live cargo for another carrier. The Florida-based airline took delivery of its third 777-200 freighter last month and expects to receive a fourth aircraft in coming months. The new freighters are part of a four-aircraft order placed in 2024 designed to modernize the fleet, boost cargo capacity and expand long-haul operations. National Airlines operates three 777-200Fs, nine Boeing 747Fs, and Airbus A330-300 and A330-200 passenger aircraft. The carrier serves global markets including direct shippers, manufacturers, e-commerce companies and government agencies through charter, ACMI and CMI services across operational hubs in North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
