Network Aviation Group's freight operations and ground services divisions both benefited from market volatility during the first half of 2026, according to the carrier's UK leadership. Perishables shippers, particularly flower exporters, maintained air cargo commitments rather than shifting to ocean freight following Red Sea disruptions and Strait of Hormuz closures. The uncertainty sustained demand for the company's Liege-based Boeing 747-400 freighter, particularly routes carrying produce from Nairobi to Europe. E-commerce volumes remained resilient despite regulatory headwinds. The carrier operates Hong Kong-Europe flights and commenced scheduled charter routes between Hong Kong and Johannesburg to serve online retailers targeting African markets. This shift followed new US import duties. Network expects the European Union's €3 e-commerce import charge to create near-term market disruption through year-end rather than fundamental structural change.
