A Norfolk Southern conductor died Thursday after being struck by a train in Indiana at approximately 3:52 p.m. Scott Shoemaker, 57, of Toledo, was working an eastbound train and positioned trackside to monitor a westbound train as it passed when the incident occurred. The National Transportation Safety Board initiated an investigation into the fatality.
