Norfolk Southern Elevates DeShazor to VP of Intermodal and Automotive Operations

Norfolk Southern has named Will DeShazor vice president of intermodal and automotive operations. DeShazor will report to Chief Operating Officer Brian Barr, effective immediately. A 21-year veteran of Norfolk Southern's operations division, DeShazor most recently served as assistant vice president of network optimization, overseeing network planning, commercial reviews, terminal standards, capacity modeling and capital planning efforts. His career spans 17 years in transportation operations leadership, including six years as terminal superintendent at three hump yards. DeShazor previously led major intermodal and automotive terminal operations initiatives, including managed stacking implementation at Austell, Georgia and container conversion projects at Toledo and Kansas City. "His expertise positions him to connect network planning with execution in the field to help us continue improving service, supporting growth, and delivering for our customers," Barr said. DeShazor holds an MBA from the University of North Carolina and a bachelor's degree in economics and business from Virginia Military Institute.
