Norfolk Southern unveiled six custom locomotives celebrating the nation's 250th anniversary, featuring patriotic paint schemes inspired by iconic American symbols. The series includes designs honoring the Liberty Bell, the Statue of Liberty, and the American bald eagle, alongside references to NS's heritage. The locomotives were built in the United States and finished at Norfolk Southern's Juniata Locomotive Shop in Altoona, Pennsylvania. They will tour the East Coast. The paint schemes commemorate the railroad industry's role in transporting national symbols and connecting American commerce for nearly two centuries. Carman Tim Lasure at Juniata noted the significance of the project, stating the work represents more than a paint job—it reflects the pride and craftsmanship of the entire crew involved in the locomotives' creation.
