Law enforcement agencies across the United States and Canada dismantled multiple criminal networks during April and May. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police and Canada Border Services Agency arrested three suspects after discovering nearly 551 pounds of cocaine hidden in flatbread shipments arriving in Halifax, Nova Scotia. U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers in South Texas seized 1,644 pounds of methamphetamine concealed within a lettuce shipment at the Pharr International Bridge, valued at $14.7 million. Additional enforcement actions yielded 8,500 counterfeit designer perfumes in Fort Lauderdale, 1,622 counterfeit luxury jewelry items in Louisville, and 18 million illegal vaping products across multiple ports valued at $175 million. The coordinated operations underscore how smuggling networks exploit commercial freight, maritime containers and parcel systems to move illegal goods across borders.
