Nvidia has largely abandoned China's artificial intelligence chip market to Huawei, CEO Jensen Huang said. U.S. export restrictions are fundamentally reshaping the global semiconductor landscape. The remarks come as Nvidia posted blockbuster financial results, with revenue climbing 85% while the company authorized an $80 billion buyback program and increased its dividend. China's AI chip demand remains substantial, Huang noted, with Huawei and domestic competitors capitalizing on Nvidia's market exit. The Trump administration's April requirement for export licenses has effectively locked Nvidia out of a region that once generated at least one-fifth of the company's data center revenue. Huang cautioned investors to expect no near-term approvals for advanced chip sales into China, signaling the company has abandoned hopes for market reopening in the foreseeable future.
