Optimus Technology Inc. has acquired SmartHop's load and fleet management platform, planning to distribute it at no cost to small and midsize carriers through financial, insurance and logistics partners. The Austin, Texas-based company will repackage SmartHop as a white-label developer kit that integrates into existing carrier applications. Partners can apply their own branding to the dispatch tool. The tool enables carriers to manage trucks and book loads while generating transaction data for Optimus's Freight Intelligence Graph, a digital twin model of the U.S. freight network. Partner platforms collectively reach over 40,000 weekly active users. Optimus expects the acquisition to capture carrier data previously unavailable, particularly from budget-constrained small and midsize fleets. SmartHop, which raised $16.5 million in its February 2021 Series A round, spent tens of millions developing the software platform.
