Oura announced its fifth-generation smart ring Thursday, featuring a significantly compact footprint 40% smaller than its predecessor. The ring maintains identical sensing and tracking capabilities. The Ring 5 launches June 4 starting at $399 for base finishes, with premium options in gold and brushed silver priced at $499. A portable charging case will retail for $99. The company is introducing expanded health monitoring through its Health Radar feature, tracking biometric signals including body temperature and respiration. New tracking capabilities will be available across generation 3, 4, and 5 rings. CEO Tom Hale stated the redesign aims to broaden adoption by making daily wear more accessible while delivering personalized, predictive health insights. Oura, a four-time CNBC Disruptor 50 honoree, recently filed confidentially for an initial public offering.
