A group of owner-operators has filed a class action lawsuit against Red Line Logistics Inc., a Michigan-based transportation provider, alleging the company understated freight revenue to drivers while retaining undisclosed margins. The complaint, filed in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, names company officials Zaim Bajgoric and Anel Penava as defendants. According to the suit, Red Line secured loads from third-party customers and assigned them to exclusive lease-agreement drivers who were contractually entitled to a percentage of load revenue. The plaintiffs allege Red Line secured a $10,000 load but reported $7,500 value to drivers, pocketing the $2,500 difference before calculating driver compensation. Under the cited agreement, owner-operators were entitled to 80 percent of load value. The lawsuit seeks damages exceeding $1 million. The defendants have not publicly responded to the allegations.
